Wanna know what makes an article red hot?
Actually, I'm holding back on you.
In the title it says "4 Must Haves," there's actually a lot more. BUT I want to give you the BASIC 4.
It's what gets traffic.
The rest: just makes it a bonus.
Ready, here you go:
#1 Keywords and Keyword Phrases.
An article must always be centered on the keywords and keyword phrases.
This does not mean you can stick a bunch of "non sensical" (I wanted to make up a word to make a point) keywords in an article.
If you're trying to get traffic with the keywords: "dog training," but most of your article is talking about dog food, this will not bring any traffic. And if it did, you're targeting the wrong readers.
The important thing is that you have an article that has the keywords that are related to your content and the website theme. For example, if you maintain a motorcycle parts site, you must be able to have articles about motorcycles and their parts.
This bring me to the next must have.
#2 Keyword Density
Now that you have your keywords and keyword phrases, you must use them fully. An article must have good keyword density for a search engine like King Google to find it.
Now again, this does not mean you can stuff your articles with the same keyword over and over again. This type of article writing is actually banned and will only ruin your ranking and credibility.
So what is the right amount then?
Most good articles have at least have ten to fifteen percent of keyword density in their content for search engines to rank a site high in their search results. Getting a high rank is what articles do best for a site.
With a very high density, the essence of the article is lost and may turn off a reader as well as the search engines. It comes off as overeager. A low number may be ignored by the search engines.
#3 Linking Articles
This is a basic but most internet marketers forget. When you are writing an article, you have to remember that the best way for your article to get read-- hence get "red hot" is for it to get shared.
Another word is: linking.
The more websites (relevant ones, more on this later) point to your website and articles, the higher the ranking you will receive for your keywords.
Yes, it's like a popularity content. Remember high school? The more friends you have the cooler you are. You are seen as the go-to person.
Now, it's your chance to be popular. Get linked.
I left the best for last.
#4 Good Article Content
This is by far the most important.
You want to make sure your readers come back.
Think of ALL your articles like a first date.
Everything has to go perfect. You're funny. You're entertaining. There is rapport, there is a connection. Smiles. Laughter. Good food. A fun agenda.
You don't try too hard but you show interest in them, and in turn show in interest you.
After the night (or in this case the article) is ending, you leave them wanting more. They want to know more. More of who you are. More what you got to offer.
Give them a taste, a sample if you will that you got the goods. And yes, they should chase after it.
Remember: good content. First dates.
Get them to come back.
