Imagine looking at your sales stats and seeing your numbers sizzle like cooking bacon.
Or even better, they not only sizzle but heat up like some hot tamales
The dirty truth about selling is that the little things do count. And I have 11 little ways to bring that sizzle in your sales.
#1 Change Your Advertising Headlines
You could change your headline, change font, change the pictures, etc. For instance, one week you could have your headline say, "How To Drop 15 Pounds In 2 Weeks!" and the next week use, "15 Pounds Lighter in 14 days!" Just see which one pulls more orders per visitors. Why does this work? People are attracted to different languages. Same message, just different way of saying it. Catch more fish with different bait? Cool, huh?
#2 Create a "PR" web page for your business.
There are a lot of different companies who provide this service. What if you could reach your customers in a more subtle way? People trust the news. So picture for a second that your business is being mentioned in a trusted news source. Will that reel in more customers? More sales?
#3 Giveaways, Contests, Prizes
Yes, give stuff away for free. You can go about this 2 ways. You could offer your current customers a chance to win something if they buy X. Or, you could entice new customers to buy something to win something.
#4 Publish testimonials on your ad copy.
Wanna know a fast way to build trust? Have real testimonials from real people. They will give your business credibility. Be sure to include the person's full name.
#5 Take a survey, get feedback
How will you know what exactly your customers want and will buy if you don't get feedback? One of the best ways is to have them take a survey (of course, entice them with something for free). This way, you can sell the product or service before actually creating it.
#6 Money back guarantees
No one likes getting ripped off, right? Of course not. Offer that strong money back guarantee. It can be 30 days, 60 days, or even a lifetime guarantee. It depends on the product or service. Let your customers know that their money will NOT run away from them.
#7 Free trials
Sometimes people are skeptical. This is a good thing and a bad thing. The bad thing is it's harder to sell to them. The good thing is if you do, they will be your customer for life. They stay loyal. Offering some type of free trial will tell people there is no risk or obligation if try out your product or service.
#8 Limit the time of the offer
Sales will sizzle and your products and services will be flying off the shelves if you limit the time of the offer. It plays on the law of scarcity. People buy things that are limited. It has more value. Like a finely cut diamond, it's rare. Make your offer like that.
#9 Limit the number of people for the offer
This is similar to number 8 but it is limiting on the number of people that could get it. For example, you can offer a discount on the first 50 people. Or, you can add bonuses for the first 100. This is one cool way to bring the sizzle back in your sales.
#10 Tell the story behind the product or service
It's human nature to love stories. It's why movies are a great past time. I have a friend that was very smart when it came to sales objections and anything related. He had a very indirect way of influencing others since he always talked about things and people through stories. He used real life examples. He once told a story about how he first picked up the phone to cold call a potential client and without even realizing it was the first step to his journey in his world of sales. Every call he made he got better and better. His embarrassing mistakes made him who he is today, the number 1 sales manager in the company. He tells his story every time he is training sales people. It gets them inspired, it gets them to feel like they can do it too!
